How to install it

ብርሃን በ Play Store ላይ ስለሌለ አንድሮይድ አንድ ጊዜ ፈቃድ ይጠይቅዎታል።

Birhan is not on the Play Store, so Android asks your permission once.

የማውረጃ ቁልፉን ይጫኑ። ሲጨርስ ፋይሉን ይክፈቱት።

Tap download. When it finishes, open the file.
አንድሮይድ ሲጠይቅዎት “ከማይታወቁ ምንጮች መጫን ፍቀድ” የሚለውን ያብሩ።

When Android asks, allow “install from unknown sources”.

Is Birhan free?

Yes. Birhan is completely free, shows no advertising, and has nothing to sell. There is no paid tier.

No. Birhan is distributed as an APK from birhan.online/download.html. Every release publishes a SHA-256 fingerprint so you can check the file you received is the one we published.

Do I need an account to read the Bible?

አያስፈልግም። ንባብ መለያ አይጠይቅም። መለያ የሚያስፈልገው የራስዎን ቤተ ክርስቲያን ማስታወቂያዎችና ሰነዶች ለመቀበል ብቻ ነው።

No. Reading needs no account. An account exists only to receive your own church's announcements and documents.

If you installed an earlier test build

አንድሮይድ በሌላ ቁልፍ የተፈረመ መተግበሪያን አያዘምንም። ስለዚህ አዲሱን ከመጫንዎ በፊት አሮጌውን ማራገፍ ያስፈልግዎታል፤ አለበለዚያ “App not installed” የሚል ይላል።

መጽሐፍ ቅዱስዎ ለማንኛውም ያለ ኢንተርኔት ይሠራል። የሚጠፋው መግቢያዎ ብቻ ነው፤ እንደገና መግባት ይችላሉ።

Android will not update an app signed with a different key, so you need to uninstall the old one first. Otherwise the install stops with “App not installed”.

Your Bible reading works offline either way. All you lose is your sign-in, and you can sign back in.

What we collect, and who sees it

Your name, the church and branch you choose, and your role in that church. An email address or a phone number — at least one is required. When you register we confirm your Telegram account, to establish that you are a real person.

Your membership details are visible only within your own church. Other churches cannot see them. Birhan does not sell your data or use it for advertising, and there are no trackers.

This matters more than usual: this data says which church you belong to, and therefore something about your religious affiliation. It is treated accordingly.

በመተግበሪያው ውስጥ ቅንብሮች → መለያዬን ሰርዝ ይሂዱ። መለያዎ ይሰረዛል፣ እና ብርሃን ከሚያስተዳድራቸው የቤተ ክርስቲያን ቴሌግራም ቡድኖች ይወጣሉ። ያለፉ መልሶችዎ ይቀራሉ፣ ነገር ግን ስምዎ ተነስቶ “የተሰረዘ ተጠቃሚ” ተብሎ ይታያል። ይህ የማይቀለበስ ነው።

In the app, go to Settings → Delete my account. Your account is deleted and you are removed from the church Telegram groups Birhan manages. Past replies stay, with your name taken off them and shown as “Deleted user”, so conversations still make sense. This cannot be undone.
